The launch of the first EP in 2014 ‘Time To Begin’ of Marina BBface & The Beatroots (The Pepper Pots, Sol Lagarto, A Contrablues, Electric Gozarela) primed the pump of a nowadays solid band, in part thanks to an impecable live show but also for having been defining their own style that, despite that they have many different influences, it is gaining personality everyday.
In 2016 with the album under the name of "Still Beating" they become established as one of the reference projects of the spanish black music scene. A record full of funk and energy, shuddering rythms and an unstopable groove. With a raw and visceral sound, Marina attacked again with a unique voice that matches as a glove with the party dress embroided by horn sections and sould harmonies. An album in which the deserved importance is given to the art of making rounded tunes , as it is shown in the infectious first single ‘Open Un The Window’ or middle tones as ‘Empty Room’ where it is shown all the potential of Marina and her Beatroots.
In 2017 they launched ‘How Far You Can Go’ a seven inches in a limited vinyl edition that was launched together with the new tunes ‘Shoorah! Shoorah!’, two different tunes but with a surprining quality and energy, along with a high level videoclip that led them to tour all around the peninsula with a very good welcome and full venues. After a pause for maternity matters by most of the members of the band (coincidence) they are back to conquer the world , they are inmersed in their new record that promises to be a before and an after of this band, they will get into the studio very soon and we will be able to se an advance of the brand new airs that it looks like they are going to be intense.
